Jehovah Ori — The Lord My Light
There are seasons when the path ahead feels unclear.
Not because I’ve stopped trusting God — but because I don’t yet see where He’s leading. Waiting seasons can feel like walking in the dark, where each step requires faith before clarity. You move forward carefully, hoping you’re going in the right direction, trusting that what you cannot see doesn’t mean God is not there.
This is where the name Jehovah Ori meets me — The Lord my Light.
Light doesn’t always show the entire road. Sometimes it just shows the next step. And I’ve come to realize that God rarely reveals everything at once. Not because He is withholding, but because He is teaching me to trust Him — not just His plan.
There have been moments when I wished for certainty. When I asked God for the full picture, for reassurance about what was ahead. But instead of giving me everything at once, He gave me just enough light to take the next step.
And looking back, I can see His faithfulness in every step I couldn’t see at the time.
Jehovah Ori reminds me that darkness is not the absence of God. It is often the place where His light becomes most visible.
He brings clarity when confusion settles in.
He brings peace when fear tries to grow.
He brings direction when I feel unsure.
Even when I don’t know what tomorrow holds, I know who holds me.
Today, I don’t need to see the whole path. I just need to trust the One who lights it.
Psalm 27:1 NIV
“The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?”
Where in your life do you feel like you’re walking without clarity?
What step has God already illuminated that you may be hesitating to take?
How can you trust His light today, even without knowing what comes next?
As you breathe in, whisper: “You are my light.”
As you breathe out, whisper: “I will follow.”

Closing Prayer
Jehovah Ori, my Light,
Thank You for guiding me even when I cannot see clearly.
Help me trust You in seasons of uncertainty.
Give me peace when I feel unsure, and courage to follow where You lead.
Remind me that Your light is enough for every step I take.
Today, I choose to trust Your direction,
knowing You are leading me exactly where I need to be.
Amen.
