El Shaddai — God Almighty, More Than Enough

“I am God Almighty; walk before me faithfully and be blameless.”

After remembering God as Yahweh — the One who is — and Elohim — the One who creates — today I rest in El Shaddai — God Almighty, the One who is more than enough.

There are moments in life when “enough” feels far away. Enough strength. Enough resources. Enough patience. Enough answers. I’ve had days where I look at what’s in front of me and quietly wonder if what I have will be sufficient for what’s being asked.

And it’s in those moments that the name El Shaddai steadies me.

God introduced Himself as El Shaddai to Abram when the promise felt delayed and the waiting felt long. He didn’t explain the timeline. He didn’t offer reassurance in the way we might expect. He simply revealed who He was — God Almighty. More than enough to fulfill what He had promised.

That speaks to me.

Because El Shaddai doesn’t depend on my capacity.

He isn’t limited by what I lack.

He doesn’t ask me to supply what only He can provide.

When I feel stretched thin, El Shaddai remains full.

When my strength runs out, His does not.

When I reach the end of myself, He is still abundant.

Scripture reminds us:

— Philippians 4:19 (NIV)

“And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.”

El Shaddai invites me to stop measuring what I have and start trusting who He is. My role isn’t to figure out how everything will work out — it’s to walk faithfully, trusting that God’s sufficiency will meet me along the way.

There’s freedom in that. Freedom from striving. Freedom from fear. Freedom from the constant pressure to be enough on my own.

God doesn’t ask me to bring abundance — He is abundance.

He doesn’t ask me to manufacture strength — He supplies it.

He doesn’t ask me to control the outcome — He holds it.

Today, I want to live remembering that I am not my own source. I am sustained by El Shaddai — the God who is more than enough.

Genesis 17:1 NIV

Reflection

Where do you feel stretched or insufficient right now?

What would change if you trusted El Shaddai to meet that need?

How can you walk today without striving, trusting God’s sufficiency?

As you breathe in, whisper: “You are enough.”

As you breathe out, whisper: “I trust You.”

Closing Prayer

El Shaddai, God Almighty,

Thank You for being more than enough in every season of my life.

When I feel limited, remind me of Your abundance.

When I feel weary, strengthen me with Your power.

Help me release the pressure to provide what only You can supply.

Today, I choose to trust You as my source,

resting in the truth that You are sufficient — always.

Amen.
