THE COVENANT
Daily Devotionals & Reflections
In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for Me wholeheartedly, you will find Me.”
Jeremiah 29:12–13 (NLT)
January 31, 2026
I am the Lord, who heals you.
“He said, ‘If you listen carefully to the Lord your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, who heals you.’
This year, my prayers have become more personal.
I am praying for healing — not in a general way, but specifically for some key family members. People I love deeply. People whose pain I feel even when they don’t speak it out loud. And if I’m honest, this kind of prayer carries a different weight.
It’s one thing to pray for healing in theory.
It’s another thing to pray when it’s close to home.
When it’s family, the prayers are quieter but heavier. They come with hope, but also with fear. With faith, but also with the ache of wanting things to be different right now. I’ve found myself praying the same prayers again and again — sometimes confidently, sometimes through tears.
And I’m learning that God welcomes all of it.
Jehovah Rapha — the Lord who heals — is not intimidated by persistent prayers. He is not bothered by repetition. He is not distant from our concern. Scripture reminds us:
— Psalm 147:3 (NIV)
“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”
Healing doesn’t always come instantly. Sometimes it comes in stages. Sometimes it looks like physical restoration. Sometimes it looks like peace in the middle of uncertainty. And sometimes it looks like strength to keep believing when answers haven’t come yet.
What comforts me is knowing that God loves my family even more than I do. He sees what I cannot see. He understands the full picture — the timing, the process, the purpose — even when I don’t.
My role isn’t to carry the outcome.
It’s to keep showing up in prayer.
To keep trusting God’s heart.
To keep believing that He is at work, even when I can’t yet see the results.
This year, I’m choosing to pray with expectation, but also with surrender. To ask boldly for healing, while trusting God’s wisdom and care completely.
Jehovah Rapha is still healing.
Still restoring.
Still present with those we love.
Exodus 15:26 NIV
Reflection
Who are you praying for healing for this season?
What emotions come up when you bring their names before God?
How can you rest in God’s care while continuing to pray faithfully?
As you breathe in, whisper their name quietly.
As you breathe out, whisper: “You are our Healer. We trust You”
Closing Prayer
Jehovah Rapha, our Healer,
We come before You together — just as we are.
You see us fully — our hearts, our worries, the prayers we’ve whispered and the ones we’ve struggled to put into words.
You know the healing we are believing for, both for ourselves and for those we love.
We ask that You meet us exactly where we are today.
Bring healing where there is pain — physical, emotional, spiritual, and unseen.
Bring peace where fear has taken hold.
Bring strength where weariness has settled in.
As we wait, help us not to lose hope.
As we pray, help us trust Your timing and Your wisdom.
As we walk through this season, remind us that we are never alone.
We place every concern, every loved one, and every need at Your feet again today.
We choose to trust You — not just for the outcome, but for the journey.
Jehovah Rapha, continue Your healing work in us and around us.
Cover us with Your peace.
Strengthen our faith.
And help us rest in the truth that You are the Lord who heals.
We trust You.
We wait on You.
We believe in You.
Amen.
